We hereby inform you that last Saturday on 20th January, the founder and president of Andreu Barberá S.L steel door company Mr. Vicente Andreu Bort, passed away.

Born in Paterna on 6th February 1934 into a humble family, he worked during his youth in different trades such as farm labourer, baker, blacksmith, leather tanner and electrician.

It was in 1966 when, in partnership with his brother-in-law, he started in the locksmith\'s trade, with almost no experience in the sector, under the name of Talleres Vach, in the centre of Paterna town.

In 1972 he set up his own company, in the same premises, and changed his name to Talleres Andreu. The invention and patent, that same year, of a new metal door design allowed it to grow gradually, becoming Andreu Metal Doors, S.L. in 1977 and later, in 1986, Andreu Barberá, S.L., the name that the company still keeps to date.

He married Fina Barberá in 1962. They had four children: José Vicente, Amparo, Mónica and Alejandro, who are currently at the head of the company.

However, he standed out not only in business aspect: passionate about animals, he established a stud farm named Yeguada Andreu. On the other hand, it is well known his and his wife Fina\'s involvement in everything related to the life of his beloved town of Paterna, participating and collaborating with a multitude of associations and organisations of all kind, such as Fallas, sports clubs, cultural associations, charities, among others.

Vicente Andreu will be remembered for his exceptional dedication and passion, for being extraordinarily hard-working and ingenious. A visionary man ahead of his time, but, above all, an excellent person, both personally and professionally.
